Insurance Defense Associate Attorney

A law firm seeks a motivated and detail-oriented Insurance Defense Associate Attorney to join a well-established defense team in Tampa, FL. This full-time position offers an exciting opportunity for an attorney with 1-3 years of civil litigation experience, ideally in construction or insurance defense, to manage cases with minimal supervision. The role allows the flexibility of remote work while handling all stages of litigation in a collaborative environment. The successful candidate will contribute to complex legal matters and develop expertise in construction and insurance defense litigation.

Duties:

• Independently manage and handle all stages of litigation, from case inception to resolution, with minimal supervision.
• Provide legal counsel on insurance defense matters, focusing primarily on construction-related disputes.
• Work on a variety of complex legal cases, offering the opportunity to develop expertise in defense litigation.
• Collaborate with a skilled team of legal professionals while managing a caseload and meeting deadlines.
• Prepare legal documents, including motions, discovery responses, and settlement agreements.
• Engage in client communication, providing updates on case progress and advising on strategies.
• Attend depositions, hearings, and mediations as required, representing clients in state and federal courts.

Requirements:

• 1-3 years of civil litigation experience, with a preference for experience in construction or insurance defense.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle a high volume of cases.
• Ability to work independently, take initiative, and make decisions with minimal supervision.
• Experience with legal research and writing, including proficiency in Westlaw and other legal research tools.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with clients, opposing counsel, and colleagues.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic legal environment.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Valid Florida Bar License (required).
• Authorization to practice law in the state of Florida is necessary.

Skills:

• Strong litigation skills, with the ability to manage and drive cases from start to finish.
• Proficiency in Westlaw and other legal research databases.
• Excellent legal writing, analytical, and verbal communication abilities.
• Ability to work independently and manage a full caseload effectively.
