Job Overview: A law firm in Palo Alto, CA, seeks a Mid-Level Transactional Tax Associate Attorney to join its team. The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of transactional tax experience, particularly with fund formation, Section 892 investors, real estate, income tax treaties, and cross-border transactions. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Job Duties:

  • Effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, with clients, lawyers, business professionals, and third parties.
  • Produce deliverables, answer phone calls, and promptly reply to correspondence.
  • Provide timely, accurate, quality work product in transactional tax matters.
  • Successfully meet deadlines, manage client expectations, and perform all assigned duties.
  • Foster positive work relationships and collaborate effectively with team members.
  • Comply with all firm policies and practices, maintaining confidentiality as required.
  • Engage in physical and sedentary activities, including extended computer work, virtual conference calls, and meetings as necessary.
  • Perform all other duties, tasks, or projects as supervising attorneys assign.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of transactional tax experience with specific knowledge of fund formation, Section 892 investors, real estate, income tax treaties, and cross-border transactions.
  • Direct and applicable AmLaw 100 law firm or SEC experience preferred.
  • Strong analytical and writing skills, with attention to detail and good business judgment.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work both collaboratively and independently.
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills, including persuasive communication abilities.
  • Research and problem-solving skills, with conceptual thinking abilities.
  • Ability to influence others and exercise management skills effectively.
  • JD degree from an accredited law school.
  • Bar admission in good standing.
  • Admitted to practice in CA.
