Wage and Hour Associate Attorney

Location:

• Sacramento, CA

Duties:

• Handle wage and hour class action and PAGA cases from start to finish, including discovery, depositions, and motion work.
• Prepare for and attend trial as necessary, ensuring thorough trial preparation and case management.
• Conduct legal research to stay updated on labor and employment laws and regulations.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, understanding their needs and offering effective legal solutions.
• Negotiate settlements and agreements on behalf of clients to resolve disputes efficiently and effectively.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys and support staff to ensure high-quality legal service.
• Meet reasonable billable hour requirements with no nonbillable hour expectations.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Active membership in good standing with the California State Bar.
• Experience in wage and hour law.
• Experience in civil litigation, with a willingness to expand knowledge in wage and hour matters.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills to effectively interact with clients and colleagues.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Prepared to learn from senior attorneys to grow both professionally and in client base.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active California Bar license in good standing.

Skills:

• Strong knowledge of labor and employment law, particularly in the areas of wage and hour, class action, and PAGA matters.
