Job Overview: A prestigious law firm, located in Atlanta, GA, is seeking a Junior Tax Associate Attorney to join its expanding Affordable Housing and Tax Credit team. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual looking to work in a dynamic and collaborative environment, assisting with the development and structuring of tax credit transactions across the United States. The successful candidate will work closely with experienced professionals, representing both for-profit and nonprofit developers involved in the affordable housing sector.

Duties:

• Assist in the structuring and negotiation of tax credit transactions, including affordable housing projects.

• Provide legal guidance to clients on federal, state, and local affordable housing programs.

• Support senior attorneys in the review and analysis of complex tax-related matters.

• Draft and review legal documents, including partnership agreements and financing documents.

• Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda on relevant tax and housing issues.

• Participate in meetings with clients, government agencies, and other stakeholders.

• Stay informed about changes in tax laws and affordable housing policies.

Requirements:

• Admission to the Georgia Bar or eligibility to become admitted.

• Strong academic credentials with a focus on tax law, specifically partnership taxation and federal income tax credits.

• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

• Strong analytical, writing, and communication skills.

• Ability to work effectively as part of a team while maintaining individual responsibility.

• Knowledge of affordable housing and tax credit programs is a plus.

Education:

• A Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

• An LLM in Taxation is preferred but not required.

Certifications:

• Member in good standing of a State Bar, preferably Georgia.

Skills:

• Proficiency in legal research and drafting.

• Strong understanding of tax law and affordable housing finance.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with a variety of stakeholders.

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
