Job Overview:

A mid-sized, multispecialty law firm is seeking an experienced Commercial Real Estate Associate to join its growing practice. The associate will primarily engage in all aspects of commercial real estate transactions, including acquisition, leasing, development, and finance. This position offers an excellent opportunity for candidates with strong academic credentials and prior experience at a large regional or national law firm to work on a wide range of real estate transactions with direct client contact. 

Location:

  • Richmond, VA

Duties:

  • Draft, review, and negotiate sale and purchase agreements, commercial leases, development agreements, and loan documents.
  • Manage due diligence efforts, including title and survey reviews.
  • Handle all aspects of commercial real estate transactions, from acquisition to leasing, development, and finance.
  • Maintain direct client contact and provide legal advice on real estate matters.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and clients on national transactions and sophisticated real estate deals.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of commercial real estate transactional experience.
  • Ability to draft, negotiate, and review complex real estate agreements.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Admission to the Virginia Bar or eligibility for reciprocal admission.

Education:

  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to practice in Virginia, or eligibility for reciprocal admission.

Skills:

  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Expertise in commercial real estate transactions.
  • Excellent negotiation skills.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage client relationships effectively.
