A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney with a focus on Workers' Compensation to join its team in Tustin, CA. This position provides an opportunity to represent major employers, insurance carriers, third-party administrators, and uninsured employers in a fast-paced, client-focused environment. The ideal candidate will have a valid California State Bar license and a passion for Workers' Compensation law, whether as a defense or applicant attorney. Recent law school graduates with strong academic credentials are also encouraged to apply.

Duties:

  • Represent clients in Workers' Compensation cases throughout California, including cases before various WCAB venues in both Northern and Southern California.
  • Manage a caseload involving both defense and subrogation matters related to workers' compensation claims.
  • Provide legal counsel and strategy to employers, insurance carriers, third-party administrators, and uninsured employers.
  • Participate in hearings, depositions, and trial proceedings as necessary.
  • Draft, review, and file legal documents, including motions, briefs, and settlement agreements.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and staff to ensure client objectives are met.
  • Maintain clear and effective communication with clients, keeping them informed about case progress and providing legal guidance.
  • Stay updated on current developments in Workers' Compensation law to provide informed advice.

Requirements:

  • Active membership in the California State Bar in good standing.
  • Experience in Workers' Compensation law, either as a defense or applicant attorney, is preferred.
  • Recent law school graduates with a strong academic record will also be considered.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts to clients.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases efficiently.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, client-driven environment while meeting deadlines.
  • Professional demeanor, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and court officials.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the California State Bar.
