Job Overview: A law firm seeks a dedicated Associate Attorney with experience in creditors' rights, collections, and bankruptcy to join its team in Atlanta, GA. This position involves representing creditors in legal proceedings related to collections, real property foreclosures, and bankruptcy matters. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of experience in collections or litigation, with a strong focus on creditors' rights, and the ability to handle multiple legal tasks efficiently.

Duties:

  • Represent clients in court for collections, replevins, foreclosures, and bankruptcy cases.
  • Draft and prepare legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
  • Conduct thorough legal research to support case strategies and prepare legal memoranda.
  • Collaborate with paralegals and support staff to manage case files and meet deadlines.
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in the Georgia State Bar and in good standing.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in collections, litigation, or a related field (creditors' rights experience preferred).
  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with legal teams.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active member of the Georgia State Bar.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in drafting legal documents and conducting legal research.
  • Strong written and oral communication abilities.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Familiarity with case management software, such as Westlaw and JST/CollectMax, is a plus.
