Job Title: Associate Immigration Attorney

Job Overview: A prominent law firm in Orange, CA, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Associate Immigration Attorney. Duties:

  • Explain immigration concepts and offer strategic solutions to clients.
  • Represent non-detained and detained individuals in immigration court and appeals.
  • Manage and prioritize a diverse caseload of immigration cases.
  • Conduct intake interviews with detained individuals at detention centers.
  • Prepare and file various immigration applications, including those for removal defense and family-based immigration.
  • Review and adjust immigration application packets as necessary.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community organizations on immigration law updates.
  • Conduct strategic consultations with potential clients to assess their immigration needs.
  • Develop strategies and prepare clients and witnesses for court or USCIS testimony.
  • Provide legal analysis to identify case benefits for clients.
  • Draft and submit legal briefs for various immigration matters.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 1-4 years of experience in immigration law.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a team-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to move cases forward efficiently and manage a caseload independently.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred.
  • Familiarity with family-based petitions, humanitarian applications, EOIR, detained cases, citizenship, and other USCIS filings.
  • Proficiency in using case management software is an advantage.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

  • Proficiency in legal research and drafting.
  • Collaborative team player with a problem-solving attitude.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
