Job Title: Institutional Response Group Attorney

Job Overview:

A prominent law firm in Washington, DC, is seeking an experienced attorney to join its Institutional Response Group. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a nationally recognized Title IX and civil rights practice. The ideal candidate will have expertise in investigating and addressing issues related to Title IX, Title VI, Title VII, civil rights, or criminal laws, with a focus on matters involving harassment, discrimination, and abuse prevention.

Duties:

  • Conduct investigations under Title IX, Title VI, Title VII, or related civil rights or criminal laws.
  • Address cases involving sexual and gender-based harassment and violence, discrimination, and child or elder abuse.
  • Assist institutions and governmental agencies in implementing trauma-informed, fair, and impartial prevention and resolution processes.
  • Develop and refine policies, procedures, and educational materials for clients.
  • Provide strategic compliance advice on Title IX, the Clery Act, child protection frameworks, and related regulatory matters.
  • Engage in organizational and systems design to support institutional governance and compliance.
  • Collaborate with colleges, universities, K-12 schools, corporations, hospitals, religious institutions, and non-profits to address safety and misconduct concerns.

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience with Title IX, the Clery Act, child protection frameworks, and related regulatory compliance.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated organizational, analytical, and interpersonal abilities.
  • Leadership experience in managing teams or processes related to civil rights compliance.
  • Willingness and ability to travel.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Must hold an active legal license to practice in Washington, DC.

Skills:
