Job Overview: A prestigious law firm is seeking a highly skilled mid-level Associate to join its Energy & Natural Resources Industry Group. This role, based in Houston, focuses on commodities and energy transactions, offering an excellent opportunity for legal professionals with a background in finance and secured transactions.

Location:

Duties:

  • Work on finance and secured transactions related to energy and natural resources.

  • Draft and review legal documents, including security agreements, intercreditor agreements, and joinder agreements.

  • Provide counsel on secured transactions involving security interests in personal property as collateral.

  • Support clients with commodity purchase and sale transactions.

  • Assist in matters involving natural gas and electricity markets.

  • Contribute to legal analysis and advisement on derivatives (preferred but not required).

Requirements:

  • 4-6 years of relevant legal experience in finance and secured transactions.

  • Proven expertise in handling energy-related legal matters.

  • Familiarity with secured transactions in personal property as collateral.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

  • Active bar membership in good standing.

Certifications:
