A law firm in Boston, MA is seeking a skilled and experienced Mid-level Labor and Employment Associate Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of employment law experience, including representing employers in employment litigation, providing advice and counseling, and handling traditional labor matters. This position requires excellent research, writing, and oral advocacy skills, as well as the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

 

Duties:

  • Conduct extensive legal research and analysis on labor and employment law issues.
  • Draft and prepare legal memoranda, pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • Represent clients in employment litigation matters, including discrimination claims, wage and hour disputes, and wrongful termination cases.
  • Provide advice and counseling to clients on a wide range of labor and employment law matters.
  • Assist with traditional labor matters, including positive employee relations training, NLRB litigation, and labor arbitrations.
  • Attend court hearings, depositions, and other legal proceedings as necessary.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and internal stakeholders.
  • Manage and prioritize workload to meet deadlines and client expectations.
  • Stay updated with changes in labor and employment laws and regulations.

 

Requirements:

  • Active Massachusetts license in good standing.
  • 3-5 years of experience in employment law representing employers.
  • Strong research and analytical skills.
  • Excellent writing and oral advocacy skills.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Active membership in good standing with the Massachusetts State Bar.

 

Skills:

  • Proficiency in legal research databases and software.
  • Knowledge of federal and state labor and employment laws.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
