Job Overview: A law firm is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Corporate Associate Attorney with a focus on mergers and acquisitions (M&A) to join their dynamic team in Portland, OR. This role demands an individual who can lead the drafting and negotiation of documents, oversee deal processes, supervise junior associates, and handle day-to-day M&A-related matters.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead the drafting and negotiation of definitive and ancillary documents in M&A transactions.
  • Manage the entire deal process from inception to closing.
  • Supervise and mentor junior associates, ensuring their professional development and quality of work.
  • Handle day-to-day demands and tasks related to various M&A matters.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships, both internal and external.
  • Provide strategic advice and counsel to clients on M&A transactions and other corporate matters.
  • Collaborate with other practice groups within the firm to provide comprehensive legal services.
  • Stay current with relevant laws, regulations, and industry trends.

Requirements:

  • 6-8 years of mergers and acquisitions experience.
  • Proven ability to lead the drafting and negotiation of M&A documents.
  • Experience in managing deal processes and client relationships.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • High degree of maturity and business sense.
  • Ability to effectively manage internal and external client relationships.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the State Bar of Oregon, or eligibility to become admitted promptly.

Certifications:

  • Active member in good standing with the Oregon State Bar or ability to gain membership promptly.

Skills:

  • Expertise in mergers and acquisitions, including strategic planning, negotiation, and execution.
  • Excellent leadership and mentoring abilities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in using legal research tools and software.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a large regional, national, or international law firm.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle complex legal matters with minimal supervision.
  • Strong business development skills and ability to contribute to the growth of the firm.
