Senior Immigration Attorney

Job Overview:
A prestigious law firm in Sacramento is seeking an experienced Senior Immigration Attorney to join their Immigration team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a diverse caseload, representing clients in immigration matters, and collaborating with a dedicated team of attorneys and legal assistants. Location:

Duties:

• Represent non-detained and detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA).
• Manage a caseload of immigration cases, including family-based immigration, humanitarian relief, EOIR cases, citizenship, and USCIS applications.
• Conduct client intake meetings, including visits to detained individuals at immigration centers.
• Prepare, review, and submit various immigration applications and petitions.
• Work with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community organizations to stay updated on changes in immigration law.
• Provide strategic advice to clients on immigration matters and develop case strategies.
• Prepare clients and witnesses for court and USCIS testimony.
• Draft and submit legal briefs for a variety of immigration cases.
• Handle legal analysis to determine the benefits and potential outcomes for clients' immigration cases.
• Meet with potential clients for consultations and assess immigration options and strategies.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience practicing immigration law.
• Strong background in family-based petitions, humanitarian relief, EOIR proceedings, detained cases, citizenship applications, and USCIS petitions.
• Proficient in managing a caseload and driving cases forward.
• Experience in preparing and submitting legal briefs and applications.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Preferably bilingual (English/Spanish).
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
• Experience with case management software is preferred.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admitted to practice law in the state of California.

Skills:
