Job Title: Associate Attorney

Job Location: Houston, TX (Hybrid)

Job Overview:

A leading law firm based in Houston is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to join its dynamic legal team. This role primarily involves providing top-tier legal representation to financial institutions, focusing on residential foreclosure, bankruptcy, and replevin cases. The ideal candidate will excel in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, collaborating effectively within a team to resolve complex legal challenges.

Duties:

• Partner with mortgage and default servicing clients to address legal matters.
• Conduct thorough reviews of loan documents, financial data, and related correspondence.
• Draft responses to motions, affirmative defenses, and other legal documents.
• Ensure the proper filing and delivery of pleadings, notices, and motions.
• Represent clients in court, both in-person and via video hearings.
• Identify legal issues, including causes of action, defenses, and counterclaims, and develop strategies for advocacy.
• Supervise and guide non-attorney staff to ensure compliance with legal requirements.
• Contribute to the firm’s compliance and ethics programs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Licensed attorney in the state of Texas.
• At least 5 years of experience in legal practice, preferably in foreclosure, bankruptcy, and replevin matters.
• Ability to analyze complex legal issues and develop innovative solutions.
• Strong organizational, time-management, and prioritization skills.
• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer skills.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• A client-centric approach, committed to providing timely and responsive service.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active membership in the State Bar of Texas.

Skills:

• A high degree of organizational and analytical skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.).
• Ability to work in a high-pressure environment with competing priorities.
