A dedicated elder law firm in Miami, FL, is seeking an experienced Senior Attorney to join its team. This role involves managing a comprehensive caseload in estate planning, probate, guardianship, and real estate law, while mentoring junior associates in legal practice. This position is ideal for an attorney who enjoys advocating for elderly clients and has a strong commitment to guiding the next generation of legal professionals.

Duties

  • Stay updated on applicable laws at local, state, and federal levels related to elder law
  • Prepare and draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, notices, and discovery responses
  • Represent clients in court, including during trials, mediations, and arbitrations
  • Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, briefs, and motions to support case strategies
  • Create and review estate plans, probate, guardianship, and real estate documents
  • Attend Veterans benefits hearings and handle associated documentation
  • Conduct initial consultations with prospective clients, acting as a primary client liaison
  • Engage in client development through marketing, networking, writing, and speaking engagements (when delegated)
  • Mentor and guide associate attorneys, providing counsel to resolve or prevent conflicts

Requirements

  • Extensive experience representing clients in trial, mediation, and arbitration settings
  • Ability to manage a heavy caseload with minimal supervision
  • Prior experience in estate planning, probate, guardianship, and real estate law
  • Strong client relationship and mentorship skills

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Bar Admission in Florida (required)
