This role offers a dynamic opportunity to manage cases from initial claims through trial and appeal, advocating for clients in court and defending their interests in complex litigation.

Duties:

  • Review and analyze medical records to build effective legal strategies.
  • Draft and prepare motions, reports, and other legal documents.
  • Represent clients in court hearings, mediations, and trials.
  • Prepare clients for depositions and attend depositions as needed.
  • Handle discovery processes, including responding to discovery requests and drafting related motions.
  • Regularly attend court appearances and advocate for clients to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Take and defend depositions of fact and expert witnesses.

Requirements:

  • Licensed to practice law in Texas.
  • 3-10 years of experience in medical malpractice and general liability defense.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent legal research, writing, and oral communication skills.
  • Experience handling discovery motions and courtroom procedures.
  • Ability to take and defend depositions.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the Texas State Bar.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in legal drafting and managing litigation files.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Capable of working in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple cases.
  • High attention to detail and ability to develop case strategies.
