A law firm in Chicago, IL, is seeking a Junior to Mid-Level Associate Attorney with 2-4 years of experience in commercial real estate finance litigation and related transactions. Bankruptcy litigation experience would also be helpful and desirable. The ideal candidate will have excellent research, writing, and communication skills and be capable of handling a variety of discovery and motion-related projects. Stellar academic credentials and Bar admission are required.

Job Duties:

  • Conduct legal research and analysis on issues related to commercial real estate finance litigation and bankruptcy litigation.
  • Draft and review legal documents, including discovery requests and responses, document productions, protective orders, and simple motions.
  • Assist with managing deposition preparation and conduct.
  • Support the preparation and filing of complex motions, including researching legal precedent and procedural requirements.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and clients on case strategy and legal matters.

Requirements:

  • JD degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Illinois State Bar or eligibility for admission by motion.
  • 2-4 years of experience in commercial real estate finance litigation and related transactions.
  • Bankruptcy litigation experience preferred.
  • Excellent research, writing, and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple discovery and motion-related projects efficiently.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in legal research tools and software.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Education and Certifications:

  • JD degree from an accredited law school.
