Job Overview: A law firm in Orange, CA is seeking a skilled Post-Conviction Relief Attorney. Location:

Duties:

  • Advise clients on their legal rights and prepare legal documents related to their cases.
  • Manage post-conviction relief cases, including motions to vacate, expungements, motions to reduce, and early termination of probation.
  • Handle interactions between criminal and immigration law practices.
  • Attend motion hearings on behalf of clients and provide post-hearing strategies.
  • Manage open criminal cases, including arraignments, pre-trials, pleas, and sentencing.
  • Oversee court appearances, draft motions, conduct client interviews, and perform legal research.
  • Analyze legal precedents to determine probable outcomes of cases.
  • Manage a caseload and provide legal analysis to identify potential benefits for clients.

Requirements:

  • Experience in criminal defense or immigration law.
  • Proven experience handling criminal cases at the state and local level.
  • A team player, open to strategizing and collaborating with fellow associates.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is strongly preferred but not required.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the State Bar of California.
