Job Title: Associate Attorney

Job Overview: A prominent law firm, located in Evanston, IL, is seeking a dedicated Associate Attorney to join its employment and labor litigation defense team. This role involves direct involvement in defending clients against single-plaintiff lawsuits, handling administrative matters, and participating in various legal proceedings such as hearings, mediations, and depositions. The position offers opportunities to develop strategic legal solutions and represent clients at critical legal stages.

Duties:

• Defend clients in employment litigation, including single-plaintiff lawsuits and administrative matters.
• Collaborate with clients to develop litigation strategies and provide legal guidance.
• Represent clients at hearings, mediations, depositions, and other legal proceedings.
• Draft and review legal documents, motions, pleadings, and briefs.
• Conduct legal research on complex labor and employment law issues.
• Manage case files, ensuring all legal requirements and deadlines are met.
• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and the court.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Active New York and/or New Jersey Bar admission.
• 3+ years of experience in litigation, with a focus on employment law preferred.
• Strong knowledge of state and federal court procedures and employment-related agency regulations.
• Exceptional legal research and writing skills.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active Bar admission in New York and/or New Jersey.

Skills:

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
