Job Title: EOIR Immigration Attorney

Job Overview:
A prestigious law firm located in Houston, TX, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Immigration Attorney with expertise in EOIR (Executive Office for Immigration Review) to join their team. Duties:

  • Represent clients in both detained and non-detained removal proceedings before the Immigration Court, USCIS, and the Board of Immigration Appeals.
  • Prepare and file defensive immigration applications, including I-589, I-485, 42A, 42B, Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS), and PD requests.
  • Review and prepare USCIS applications such as I-130, I-601A, and U-Visa filings.
  • Meet with clients to discuss legal strategies and offer thorough case analysis.
  • Supervise and collaborate with a team of paralegals to ensure timely and accurate completion of tasks.
  • Draft and submit legal briefs for a variety of immigration matters.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience in Immigration Law, particularly with EOIR proceedings.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to independently manage a caseload and meet deadlines.
  • Experience with Family-Based Petitions, Detained cases, Humanitarian relief, EOIR cases, Citizenship applications, and USCIS filings.
  • Proficiency in Case Management Software is preferred.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is highly desirable.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Admitted to practice law in the state of Texas.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in Texas.

Skills:

  • Expertise in immigration law, particularly removal proceedings and USCIS processes.
  • Excellent legal writing and research skills.
  • Strong client management and communication abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Detail-oriented with the capacity to handle complex case management.
