A law firm based in San Francisco, CA, seeks a Retail Trade and Environmental Law Associate Attorney to support its retail trade and environmental practice groups. The candidate will work collaboratively with other practice groups when necessary. The ideal candidate should have 3-6 years of litigation experience and must be admitted to practice in California. Strong academic credentials, excellent writing skills, and solid analytical abilities are essential. The position requires a commitment to work at least 1800 billable hours per year and 200 non-billable hours to remain in good standing. Pro-bono work up to 100 hours and diversity, equity, and inclusion work up to 25 hours will count toward the 1800 billable hours target. The firm provides comprehensive benefits, including full payment of health and dental insurance premiums and a contribution of 30 percent of premiums for dependents.

Duties:

  • Provide legal support and counsel to the retail trade and environmental practice groups.
  • Assist in all aspects of litigation, including case management, drafting legal documents, and conducting legal research.
  • Collaborate with attorneys from other practice groups within the firm as required.
  • Participate in client meetings, depositions, hearings, and trials.
  • Manage client relationships and communication effectively.

Requirements:

  • 3-6 years of litigation experience.
  • Admission to practice law in California.
  • Strong academic credentials from a reputable law school.
  • Excellent writing skills and attention to detail.
  • Solid analytical abilities and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.

  • Experience in retail trade and environmental law preferred but not required.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
