A law firm in Austin, TX, is seeking an experienced Real Estate and Land Use Associate Attorney with 3-5 years of law firm experience to join their team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in real estate finance, acquisitions and dispositions, leasing, development, and other complex commercial real estate transactions. They should be skilled in drafting, communication, and possess a thorough understanding of title, survey, and commercial real estate due diligence. Experience in the real estate aspects of renewable and conventional energy project acquisition and development is advantageous. Strong academic credentials, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to collaborate with clients, business partners, and legal teams are essential.

 

Duties:

  • Manage and oversee a variety of commercial real estate transactions, including real estate finance, acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, and development.
  • Draft and review legal documents related to real estate transactions, such as purchase agreements, leases, financing agreements, and development contracts.
  • Conduct comprehensive due diligence processes, including title and survey reviews, to ensure the legality and accuracy of transactions.
  • Provide strategic advice and legal counsel to clients on real estate and land use matters.
  • Collaborate closely with clients, business teams, and legal colleagues to achieve successful outcomes.
  • Assist in the real estate aspects of renewable and conventional energy project acquisition and development.
  • Stay updated on changes in real estate laws and regulations to provide informed counsel.
  • Handle additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned by supervising attorneys.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Texas State Bar or eligibility for admission via reciprocity.
  • 3-5 years of law firm experience in Real Estate and Land Use, preferably in a sophisticated national law firm environment.
  • Expertise in real estate finance, acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, and development.
  • Thorough understanding of title, survey, and commercial real estate due diligence processes.
  • Experience with renewable and conventional energy project acquisition and development is a plus.
  • Strong academic record demonstrating proficiency in real estate law.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for effective client and team interactions.
