Associate Immigration Attorney

A law firm seeks an experienced and dedicated Immigration Attorney to join their team in Rancho Cucamonga. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled attorney with 1 to 4 years of experience in immigration law to manage a diverse caseload and represent clients in both detained and non-detained immigration matters. The successful candidate will have the chance to collaborate with a supportive legal team and further their career in a growing law practice.

Duties

• Represent clients in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA).
• Prepare and file various immigration applications, including family-based immigration petitions, removal defense cases, and more.
• Conduct legal analysis and offer strategic counsel to clients regarding their immigration matters.
• Meet with detained clients and conduct intake at detention centers.
• Manage an active caseload, ensuring all deadlines and legal requirements are met.
• Work closely with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community-based organizations to address changes in immigration laws.
• Develop strategies for clients' cases and prepare clients/witnesses for court and USCIS testimony.
• Draft and submit legal briefs related to a wide variety of immigration cases.
• Review and revise immigration applications and documentation as needed to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Requirements

• Experience:
  • 1 to 4 years of experience practicing immigration law.
  • Experience in removal defense, family-based petitions, detained and non-detained matters, and other USCIS applications.
  • Experience with Case Management Software is preferred.
• Skills:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with a team while working independently.
  • High level of professionalism and interpersonal skills in client and colleague interactions.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred but not required.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Admitted to practice law in the state of California.
