Job Overview: A law firm in Atlanta, GA, seeks a dedicated and detail-oriented Subrogation and Recovery Department Attorney. This role focuses on evaluating and handling large property claims, coordinating investigations, and managing the retention of experts. The attorney will identify potential liability theories and ensure comprehensive client reporting. The ideal candidate will adeptly triage significant losses, close nonviable claims with client approval, and identify claims with strong factual and legal bases for recovery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and handle large property claims.
  • Coordinate investigations and manage the retention of experts.
  • Identify potential theories of liability.
  • Prepare detailed and accurate client reports.
  • Triage significant losses and close nonviable claims with client approval.
  • Identify claims with appropriate factual and legal bases for recovery.
  • Maintain thorough and organized case files.
  • Provide expert legal advice to clients.
  • Represent clients in negotiations and court proceedings as necessary.
  • Collaborate with team members and other departments to ensure optimal case outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience handling subrogation, insurance, construction, or commercial litigation claims.
  • Excellent interpersonal, research, and writing skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and priorities effectively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proven track record of successful case outcomes.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:
