A law firm seeks a dedicated and skilled litigation associate to join its growing team in Scottsdale, AZ. This position offers an exciting opportunity for an attorney with at least 3 years of experience in general commercial litigation, public entity representation, cannabis disputes, commercial transactions, and insurance law. The successful candidate will manage a variety of cases from the initial stages through trial or appeal and work closely with clients in a collaborative and goal-oriented environment. The ideal candidate should possess strong writing, research, and interpersonal skills.

Duties:

  • Manage and handle a diverse range of litigation matters, from case inception to resolution.
  • Draft legal documents, including motions, pleadings, and briefs.
  • Analyze and research legal issues, providing well-reasoned advice.
  • Represent clients in court and participate in trial preparation.
  • Communicate regularly with clients, keeping them informed of case developments.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and work within a team to achieve client objectives.
  • Assist with appeals and post-trial proceedings as necessary.

Requirements:

  • At least 3 years of litigation experience, with exposure to commercial, public entity, cannabis, or insurance-related disputes.
  • Strong writing, communication, and research skills.
  • Ability to critically analyze and provide solutions to complex legal issues.
  • Experience in courtroom proceedings and trial preparation is a plus, but not mandatory.
  • Client-oriented with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage cases independently while working collaboratively with others.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the Arizona State Bar, or eligibility to practice in Arizona.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in legal research tools (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis).
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities, particularly in drafting legal documents and client interaction.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple cases simultaneously.
  • Trial preparation and courtroom experience are preferred, but not required.
