Duties:

  • Represent clients in Surrogate's Court hearings, including citation dates, conferences, and control dates.
  • Handle estate administration matters independently from consultation to case resolution.
  • Perform legal research and prepare necessary legal memoranda.
  • Collaborate with firm partners and other attorneys to ensure smooth case progression.
  • Supervise and delegate tasks to paralegals and administrative staff, providing guidance and training as necessary.

Requirements:

  • Active and in good standing with the New York State Bar.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in estate planning and Surrogate’s Court practice.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage probate and estate administration matters.
  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and client management skills.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to handle multiple cases simultaneously.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in New York.
