A law firm seeks an experienced Lateral Partner to expand its Towson, MD office. This role is suited for current partners who are licensed in Maryland, the District of Columbia, and/or Virginia, with a portable book of business in construction and surety, commercial litigation, and/or insurance coverage. Small groups of 2-3 attorneys are also encouraged to apply. This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic office committed to the growth and integration of lateral practices.

Duties

  • Leverage existing client relationships and portable business to enhance the firm's practice areas.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of strategic plans to grow the firm's presence in relevant markets.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys to foster a team-oriented approach to client service and case management.
  • Mentor and support junior attorneys and staff to promote professional development within the firm.
  • Engage in business development activities to attract new clients and expand service offerings.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards in all practice areas.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 9 years of experience in legal practice.
  • Active admission to the Maryland Bar; admission to the District of Columbia and/or Virginia Bar is a plus.
  • Portable business is required, with a focus on one or more specified practice areas.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active membership in the Maryland Bar and other relevant jurisdictions.
