Job Overview:
A prestigious law firm in Austin, TX, is seeking a motivated and skilled attorney to join its dynamic Global Employment, Equity Compensation, and Immigration practice group. This role involves providing comprehensive counseling and advisory services on equity compensation and employment matters for multinational corporations and emerging companies, with a particular focus on the fast growth and technology sectors.

Duties:

  • Advise on equity compensation programs, including stock options (SO), restricted stock units (RSU), and employee stock purchase plans (ESPP).
  • Ensure compliance with securities, foreign exchange, and tax regulations for SO, RSU, and ESPP programs.
  • Counsel on employment-related matters such as leaves of absence, accommodations, onboarding, termination, and independent contractor classification.
  • Draft and manage employment and compensation-related documents and agreements.
  • Conduct multijurisdictional research and prepare detailed analyses with global teams.
  • Support equity compensation and employment aspects of global M&A transactions.
  • Provide insights on employment agreements, handbooks, and bonus/commission plans.
  • Participate in client meetings to deliver research findings and recommendations.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience in equity compensation or employment counseling.
  • Preference for candidates with cross-border or international experience.
  • Strong academic credentials.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree.

Certifications:

  • Active admission to the Texas State Bar.
