Litigation Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
A law firm is seeking a skilled and motivated Litigation Associate Attorney to join its family law team. The ideal candidate will have at least 6 months of litigation experience, particularly in contested family law cases. This role involves representing clients in matters such as divorce, child custody, spousal support, and restraining orders. The position requires strong courtroom skills, legal research, drafting pleadings, and trial preparation.

Location:

Duties:

• Represent clients in family law litigation, including divorce, custody, support, and restraining order cases.

• Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and settlement agreements.

• Appear in court for hearings, trials, and settlement conferences.

• Provide strategic legal counsel to clients, guiding them through the litigation process.

• Work collaboratively with support staff and fellow attorneys to ensure optimal case outcomes.

• Engage in negotiation and mediation to resolve disputes when possible.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

• Licensed to practice law in New York.

• Minimum of 6 months of litigation experience, preferably in family law.

• Strong courtroom presence and advocacy skills.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to manage multiple cases in a fast-paced environment.

• Ability to provide compassionate client service while maintaining professionalism in high-conflict situations.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Must be licensed to practice law in New York.
