A law firm in Union, New Jersey, is seeking a Personal Injury Attorney with 5 years of plaintiff’s personal injury experience. The candidate will focus on a variety of Personal Injury cases, including auto, motorcycle, truck, or slip-and-fall accidents. They will serve as an advocate and ambassador to applicants and claimants, working positively and diligently with paralegals and legal assistants. Responsibilities include handling complex Personal Injury cases from intake to verdict or settlement, communicating with clients, developing strategies, reviewing discovery documents, administering depositions, and supervising paralegals. Proficiency in negotiating settlements, advanced knowledge of Microsoft Suite, and strong organizational and multitasking skills are required.

 

Duties:

  • Handle a variety of Personal Injury cases, including auto, motorcycle, truck, or slip-and-fall accidents.
  • Serve as an advocate and ambassador to applicants and claimants.
  • Handle complex Personal Injury cases from intake to verdict or settlement.
  • Communicate with clients to understand their legal needs and concerns.
  • Develop strategies to resolve cases favorably and cost-effectively.
  • Review discovery documents and determine the best course of action for each client.
  • Take, review, and administer full depositions and oral hearings of cases witnesses and experts.
  • Prepare all documents required to file cases (150 caseload).
  • Work closely with legal assistants and paralegals to prepare comprehensive briefs for each case.
  • Maintain a regular schedule of hearings, court appearances, and conferences.
  • Schedule and administer full depositions of cases, witnesses, and experts.
  • Supervise two paralegals.

 

Requirements:

  • 5 years of plaintiff’s personal injury experience.
  • Licensed to practice law in New Jersey.
  • Proficiency in negotiating settlements and resolving property damage claims.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Suite.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Experience with trials.
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Licensed to practice law in New Jersey.

 

Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PPT).
  • Experience with Case Management systems such as Smart Advocate.
  • Document Management systems experience.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
