Job Overview: A growing law firm in Houston, Texas, is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to join its team. Location:

  • Houston, Texas

Duties:

  • Handle a substantial caseload, including personal injury, construction defect liability, trucking/auto, and premises liability cases.

  • Draft, prepare, and handle pleadings, motions, orders, and legal memoranda.

  • Draft and respond to written discovery and dispositive motions.

  • Conduct legal research with proficiency and competence.

  • Prepare and take depositions of parties and experts.

  • Review client documents and prepare case evaluations and status reports.

  • Assist with and participate in mediations and court appearances.

  • Attend informal and formal hearings at the Workers’ Compensation Commission.

  • Interact directly with clients, claim professionals, opposing counsel, colleagues, and staff.

Requirements:

  • Licensed to practice in Texas courts (additional court admissions preferred).

  • Ten years of civil litigation experience.

  • Experience in personal injury, trucking/auto, construction defect liability, products, and premises liability is preferred.

  • Strong legal research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to handle multiple cases and meet deadlines effectively.

  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Texas State Bar.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in legal research and analysis.

  • Strong drafting and communication skills.

  • Ability to manage a diverse caseload.

  • Knowledge of both state and federal court procedures.

  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills.
