Job Overview: A law firm in Vancouver, WA, is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in defending against various General Liability claims, including premises liability, auto/trucking liability, insurance defense, and medical malpractice. This role requires a proactive individual with excellent litigation skills and a commitment to achieving favorable outcomes for our clients.

Job Duties:

  • Review and summarize medical records to support client advocacy.
  • Draft motions, attend hearings, and represent clients in court proceedings.
  • Prepare clients for depositions and attend depositions as necessary.
  • Draft initial reports, interim reports, and appellate briefs.
  • Respond to discovery requests and draft related motions.
  • Regularly appear in court to ensure client representation.
  • Take and defend depositions of fact and expert witnesses.
  • Draft motions for summary judgment.

Requirements:

  • Licensed to practice law in the State of Washington.
  • 5+ years of experience specializing in General Liability defense.
  • Expertise in premises liability, auto/trucking liability, insurance defense, construction defect, medical malpractice, and nursing home defense.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent research abilities and proficiency in legal writing.
  • Effective oral communication skills for client interactions and court appearances.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admitted to the Washington State Bar.

Skills:

  • Ability to manage complex litigation cases independently.
