A law firm seeks an Associate to join its Capital Markets team in Washington, D.C. This position offers an exciting opportunity for an attorney with 1-3 years of regulatory experience, focusing specifically on consumer credit regulation and licensing. The ideal candidate will work closely with senior team members to manage a variety of complex financial services regulatory matters. The role is designed for a proactive individual eager to grow professionally while contributing to a collaborative and dynamic practice.

Duties:

  • Manage and advise on a wide range of consumer and commercial credit regulatory issues at both the federal and state levels.
  • Conduct research and draft legal memoranda addressing complex credit regulatory matters.
  • Collaborate with the team on regulatory licensing processes for clients.
  • Support the practice with day-to-day activities and additional regulatory tasks as needed.
  • Work with a diverse team of legal professionals in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Requirements:

  • 1-3 years of relevant legal experience, ideally in regulatory matters related to financial services.
  • Previous experience in consumer credit regulation and licensing is preferred.
  • Strong research, writing, and communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Enthusiastic about career development in regulatory law.
  • Must be licensed to practice in New York and/or Washington, DC, and in good standing.

Education:

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the New York and/or Washington, DC Bar is required.
