Associate Attorney with some experience

A law firm seeks an experienced and motivated Associate Attorney to join its New York office, specializing in civil litigation. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in defending negligence, personal injury, and property damage claims. This role is well-suited for individuals who are comfortable litigating cases from inception through trial and thrive in a team-oriented environment.

Duties:

• Manage a caseload from initiation through post-trial phases.
• Attend court conferences, oral arguments, depositions, mediations, and trials.
• Prepare legal documents, including pleadings, discovery responses, motions, and other litigation materials.
• Provide timely reports on case status and ongoing activities.
• Prioritize workload effectively to meet deadlines.
• Communicate efficiently with clients, senior attorneys, and paralegals.
• Meet established billing requirements.
• Complete assigned tasks promptly and accurately.

Requirements:

• Admitted to practice law in New York; admission in New Jersey is a plus.
• Strong writing skills and experience litigating cases.
• Trial experience is preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to interact professionally with attorneys, paralegals, court personnel, opposing counsel, clients, and office staff.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; knowledge of ProLaw, iTimekeep, and NetDocs is advantageous.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Member in good standing of the New York bar; federal district court admission is a plus.
