A law firm seeks a Civil Litigation Attorney for their Champaign, IL office. The attorney will handle a wide variety of civil litigation matters, including conflicts arising from construction contracts and projects, contract disputes, and landlord/tenant issues. The candidate will independently oversee the day-to-day handling of litigation files, engage in all phases of litigation, and provide legal representation for clients in court proceedings. Admission to the Illinois Bar is required.

 

Duties:

  • Practice in a wide variety of civil litigation matters
  • Independently oversee the day-to-day handling of litigation files
  • Engage in all phases of litigation, including taking and defending depositions, drafting summary judgment, and trial preparation
  • Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, appeals, agreements, and settlements
  • Collaborate with other attorneys, paralegals, and legal support staff to ensure a cohesive approach to case management
  • Advise clients on their legal rights and obligations and suggest the best course of action in their particular situation
  • Provide legal representation for clients in court proceedings related to civil matters

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
  • Admission to the Illinois Bar
  • 2+ years of relevant litigation experience
