Municipal Law Associate Attorney

A law firm is seeking a Municipal Law Associate Attorney for their Irvine, CA office.

Job Overview: The Municipal Law Associate Attorney will be responsible for providing legal counsel to public agency clients on various municipal transactional matters. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in drafting ordinances and resolutions, navigating open meeting laws, and handling land use and planning issues, among other responsibilities.

Duties:

• Drafting ordinances and resolutions for public agency clients
• Advising on open meeting laws compliance
• Handling land use and planning matters
• Providing legal counsel on conflicts of interest issues
• Addressing free speech regulations related to municipal matters
• Advising on public safety issues
• Handling election law matters
• Providing legal support on other issues relevant to public agency clients

Requirements:

• 3-5 years of experience practicing municipal transactional law
• Experience drafting ordinances and resolutions
• Familiarity with open meeting laws
• Proficiency in handling land use and planning issues
• Knowledge of conflicts of interest regulations
• Understanding of free speech regulations pertaining to municipal matters
• Ability to address public safety concerns
• Experience with election law matters
• Must be licensed to practice law in California

Education and Certifications:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
• Active license to practice law in California
