Job Title: Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
A prominent law firm based in Houston, TX, is seeking a dedicated Associate Attorney to handle litigation and collection matters. This role is ideal for a highly motivated professional with excellent analytical, written, and oral advocacy skills, who thrives in a high-volume, fast-paced legal environment.

Duties:

  • Manage breach of contract and collection litigation cases from demand through judgment.
  • Represent clients in court hearings, both telephonic and in-person.
  • Draft and present motions, including Motions for Summary Judgment.
  • Efficiently oversee an assigned caseload to meet goals and client expectations.
  • Address escalated and urgent matters as needed.
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Admission to practice law in California.
  • Experience with the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act (FDCPA) and Article 9 of the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) is advantageous.

Education:

  • Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in the state of California.

Skills:

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Advanced research skills, including leveraging both legal and non-legal resources.
  • Proficiency in software tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize a high caseload effectively.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Adaptability and a positive work ethic.
