Associate Attorney - Insurance Defense

A law firm seeks a dedicated Associate Attorney to join its team in Atlanta, GA. This full-time position is ideal for candidates with a background in insurance defense, particularly in workers' compensation, who are looking to advance their careers within a supportive and dynamic environment.

Duties

• Assist in managing insurance defense claims, focusing on workers' compensation matters.
• Develop a strong understanding of civil procedure, from the initial pleadings to trial preparation.
• Engage in the discovery process, including propounding and responding to discovery requests.
• Collaborate with team members to strategize and execute case strategies effectively.
• Communicate clearly with clients and colleagues, providing updates and legal advice.

Requirements

• A minimum of 1 year of experience in insurance defense; workers' compensation experience is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with civil procedure and discovery processes in civil litigation.
• Must be licensed to practice law in Georgia; additional licenses in other jurisdictions are a plus.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in the State of Georgia.
