A law firm seeks an experienced Attorney to join their Long Island-based practice, specializing in commercial litigation and employment and labor law. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of legal experience, demonstrating strong organizational skills and the ability to manage deadlines effectively.

Duties:

  • Assist in all areas of the firm’s practice, focusing primarily on commercial litigation and employment law matters.
  • Conduct thorough legal research to support case strategies and documentation.
  • Draft litigation documents, including complaints, answers, motions, and discovery requests and responses.
  • Collaborate with clients and colleagues to develop effective legal solutions.
  • Manage case files and maintain accurate records of all legal proceedings.
  • Ensure compliance with legal deadlines and court requirements.
  • Engage with clients to provide updates and gather necessary information for cases.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in commercial litigation and employment law.
  • Admission to practice law in New York State is required; New Jersey admission is a plus.
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple cases simultaneously.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited institution.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the New York State Bar.
  • New Jersey Bar membership is preferred but not required.

Skills:

  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficient in drafting legal documents and conducting legal research.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • A book of business is preferred but not mandatory.
