Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a diverse range of workers' compensation defense cases from inception through resolution.
  • Develop and implement effective case strategies in collaboration with clients and team members, ensuring alignment with clients' goals and expectations.
  • Serve as a mentor to associates, providing guidance and support to foster their professional development and success within the practice area.
  • Engage in business development activities to cultivate new client relationships and maintain existing ones, contributing to the firm's growth and reputation in the workers' compensation defense arena.
  • Stay abreast of legislative changes, judicial rulings, and industry trends affecting workers' compensation to provide informed advice and strategic direction.
  • Represent the firm and clients in hearings, mediations, and other dispute resolution proceedings, demonstrating exceptional advocacy skills.
  • Contribute to the firm's thought leadership by participating in seminars, writing articles, and engaging in professional organizations related to workers' compensation law.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Bar in the State of Illinois is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience practicing workers' compensation defense law.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing complex cases and achieving favorable outcomes.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead and develop a team of associates.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and advocacy skills.
  • Ability to work independently and remotely while maintaining high levels of client service and engagement.
