A law firm seeks an experienced Personal Injury Intake Attorney to join its team in Houston, TX. This position offers the opportunity to play a vital role in managing and processing new personal injury claims while working closely with clients to guide them through the initial stages of their cases. The ideal candidate will be client-focused, organized, and able to handle high volumes of intake work in a fast-paced environment.

Duties

  • Communicate with potential clients via phone, in person, or electronically to evaluate new personal injury claims.
  • Assess whether new claims should be accepted by the firm and follow up with leads.
  • Handle escalated calls and manage disgruntled clients to resolve concerns and facilitate intake.
  • Ensure all newly signed clients have the necessary information entered into the case management system.
  • Conduct a daily review of newly signed cases and ensure timely action is taken on each file.
  • Review rejected leads to confirm proper handling and facilitate the return of unqualified leads to marketing sources.
  • Provide legal support to the Intake Specialist team, ensuring smooth operations.
  • Train, supervise, and manage an intake team, including paralegals and legal assistants.
  • Optimize intake processes and procedures to increase efficiency and streamline operations.
  • Meet and report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) set by the firm.
  • Provide coverage for weekend and evening intake activities when required.
  • Assist in managing personal injury leads from out-of-state clients.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in the Texas State Bar.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience handling intake for personal injury cases.
  • Strong client-facing experience with excellent communication skills.
  • Preference for bilingual candidates.
  • Proven ability to handle high-pressure situations and meet deadlines.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • A keen understanding of case management, with a focus on prioritizing tasks efficiently.
  • Excellent telephone etiquette and cultural awareness.
  • Ability to follow established processes and maintain attention to detail.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active membership in the Texas State Bar.
