Duties:

  • Handle a caseload focused on creditors' rights, including foreclosure, bankruptcy, and consumer collections.
  • Represent clients in both state and federal court, including filing motions, attending hearings, and participating in depositions.
  • Engage in discovery processes and conflict resolution, ensuring effective case management.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, becoming a trusted advisor and key point of contact.
  • Provide legal analysis and guidance on complex litigation matters, including appellate cases.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys to assist in case strategy development and mentoring junior attorneys.
  • Travel for court appearances and client meetings as needed.

Requirements:

  • Active membership in good standing with the Missouri State Bar; ability to obtain federal district and bankruptcy court licenses in Missouri if not already licensed.
  • 5+ years of litigation experience; candidates with 5+ years of experience preferred.
  • Strong background in creditors' rights, real estate law, or related litigation fields.
  • Familiarity with legal frameworks such as TILA, RESPA, FDCPA, and the Bankruptcy Code.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a high caseload and work efficiently under pressure.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong leadership capabilities with a focus on collaboration and teamwork.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the Missouri State Bar.
  • Additional state Bar memberships are a plus.
