Job Overview: A law firm seeks a skilled and dedicated Associate Attorney to join its legal team in Chicago, IL. Duties:

  • Conduct thorough legal research to support case preparation and legal strategy development.

  • Provide comprehensive legal advice to clients regarding their rights and obligations under the law.
  • Assist in trial preparation, including organizing evidence and developing case strategies.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records and case files.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys on complex legal matters and attend client meetings to discuss legal options.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active admission to the Illinois bar (northern jurisdiction preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of civil and criminal procedures, as well as legal principles and practices.
  • Excellent negotiation skills with a demonstrated ability to effectively advocate for clients.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools such as Westlaw is preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited institution.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Illinois State Bar (Required).

Skills:

  • Expertise in legal research and case preparation.
  • Proficient in drafting legal documents with precision.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for client interactions and negotiations.
  • Ability to handle multiple cases simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
  • Proficiency in legal research software (Westlaw preferred).
