A law firm seeks a Family Law Associate Attorney for its Portland office. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience handling family law matters such as asset division, custody, spousal and child support, and possess trial and mediation experience. This role offers the opportunity to manage individual cases while also supporting senior attorneys on complex cases. Duties:

  • Handle family law cases involving asset division, custody, spousal, and child support.
  • Represent clients in trial and mediation proceedings.
  • Provide support to senior attorneys on complex family law cases.
  • Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • Conduct legal research and manage discovery processes.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, providing updates and legal advice.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Oregon family law.
  • Experience handling cases independently and providing support on complex cases.
  • Strong trial and mediation experience.
  • Excellent communication, writing, and research skills.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active member of the Oregon State Bar (required).
  • Washington Bar membership is a plus.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in family law litigation and case management.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a legal team.
  • Attention to detail and excellent time management skills.
