A law firm in Knoxville, TN, is seeking a dedicated and proactive Associate Attorney to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling all aspects of file generation and litigation, often serving as the first point of contact for troubleshooting with paralegals, courts, and opposing attorneys. This role involves court appearances, preparation of pleadings, docket and case management, and close collaboration with the assigned team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Handle all aspects of file generation and litigation, from initial case preparation to resolution.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for troubleshooting issues with paralegals, courts, and opposing attorneys.
  • Represent clients in court appearances throughout the state of Tennessee.
  • Prepare and draft legal pleadings, motions, and other court documents.
  • Manage case dockets, including scheduling, tracking deadlines, and ensuring compliance with court orders.
  • Collaborate closely with assigned team members to strategize and execute case plans.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to support case strategies and client representation.
  • Maintain effective communication with clients to keep them informed of case progress and developments.
  • Assist with creditor’s rights and civil litigation matters, focusing on retail consumer collections.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Member in good standing of the Tennessee Bar.
  • 1-3 years of experience in creditor’s rights and civil litigation, preferably with a focus on retail consumer collections.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to address and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail in case management and documentation.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Member in good standing of the Tennessee Bar.
