Job Overview:

A law firm in Washington, DC, is seeking a Senior Advertising, Marketing, and Promotions Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will possess substantial experience in advertising law, consumer protection law, and marketing transactions. This role involves drafting and negotiating complex agreements, reviewing advertising materials, and providing strategic counsel on various compliance issues. Duties:

• Draft and negotiate a range of advertising, marketing, and promotional agreements, including those with ad agencies, influencers, celebrities, and sponsors.
• Review advertising copy for compliance with false advertising standards, claim substantiation, intellectual property rights, and right of publicity issues.
• Provide legal counsel on compliance with contest and sweepstakes regulations.
• Advise clients on price advertising, recurring subscriptions, and loyalty/rewards programs.
• Handle disputes about false advertising, unfair competition, and National Advertising Division (NAD) issues.
• Collaborate with clients to develop strategies for navigating complex advertising and marketing regulations.
• Stay current with advertising law developments and provide clients with updates and recommendations.
• Work effectively within a team, demonstrating strong communication and collaboration skills.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the Bar in Washington, DC, or eligibility to obtain admission.
• Substantive experience in advertising law, marketing transactions, and consumer protection law.
• Experience in a large or medium law firm setting is preferred.
• Proven track record of drafting and negotiating complex agreements and providing strategic legal counsel.
• Familiarity with advertising regulations, including those related to false advertising, claim substantiation, and IP issues.

Certifications:

• Licensed attorney in Washington, DC, or eligibility to be admitted.
