Job Overview:
A prominent law firm located in Charlotte, NC, is seeking an experienced Healthcare Reimbursement Attorney with a strong background in advising clients on healthcare billing and reimbursement requirements, including Medicare, Medicaid, and VA/Tricare. The role requires proficiency in federal fraud and abuse laws, including the Anti-Kickback Statute, the Stark Law, and the False Claims Act. The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of experience and a proven track record in healthcare legal matters, including advising a range of healthcare entities on compliance and reimbursement processes.

Duties:

  • Provide expert legal counsel on healthcare billing, reimbursement, and compliance matters.
  • Advise clients on Medicare, Medicaid, and VA/Tricare reimbursement regulations.
  • Guide healthcare entities such as physicians, hospitals, and skilled nursing facilities on billing, enrollment, claims submission, and compliance strategies.
  • Offer advice on structuring business relationships to ensure compliance with federal fraud and abuse laws, including the Anti-Kickback Statute and Stark Law.
  • Assist clients with navigating healthcare regulations and fraud prevention.
  • Represent clients in regulatory matters, ensuring adherence to industry-specific laws and best practices.
  • Collaborate with other legal professionals within the firm on complex healthcare issues.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in healthcare billing, reimbursement, and regulatory law.
  • Strong knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and VA/Tricare reimbursement requirements.
  • Expertise in federal fraud and abuse laws, such as the Anti-Kickback Statute, the Stark Law, and the False Claims Act.
  • Experience working with healthcare clients, including hospitals, physicians, home health agencies, and skilled nursing facilities.
  • Ability to guide compliance with healthcare billing practices and regulations.
  • Proven success in working with private payors is a plus.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active Bar membership in good standing in NC.
