Personal Injury Associate Attorney

A law firm in Dallas, TX, is seeking a motivated Personal Injury Associate Attorney to join their team. This position offers a unique opportunity to focus on case strategy and professional development, rather than being bogged down with routine tasks. The ideal candidate will have experience in depositions and a strong interest in court hearings and mediations. Mentorship from senior attorneys is provided, along with opportunities to participate in focus groups, trial preparation, and attorney skill programs. Trial participation is expected, and the firm will facilitate a transition into this aspect of the practice.

Duties:

• Manage a diverse caseload of personal injury matters in litigation.
• Prepare and draft legal documents on behalf of clients, including filing complaints.
• Draft meet and confer letters to opposing counsel regarding discovery disputes.
• Prepare clients for depositions and other applicable hearings.
• Take and defend depositions throughout the course of litigation.
• Prepare and respond to motions, including dispositive motions.
• Attend court appearances and represent clients in various legal proceedings.
• Negotiate settlements for personal injury cases.
• Direct and support investigations on all assigned litigation matters.
• Participate in focus groups, trial preparation, and attorney skill programs.
• Engage in ongoing professional development with senior attorneys.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Current good standing with the CA State Bar.
• 1-4 years of experience in personal injury law.
• Strong background in personal injury litigation, including pre-litigation case management and discovery.
• Experience taking, defending, and preparing for depositions.
• Interest in attending court hearings and mediations.
• Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
• Experience with workers' compensation law is a plus.
