PIP Attorney

Job Overview:
A well-established law firm is seeking an experienced Insurance Defense Attorney to join its growing team. This position focuses on representing insurers and policyholders in complex insurance defense matters, including Personal Injury Protection (PIP) claims, bodily injury, and property damage litigation. The ideal candidate will have experience handling first-party and third-party claims, with the ability to manage multiple cases, handle depositions, and prepare for trial. Location:

• Farmington Hills, MI

Duties:

• Represent insurers and policyholders in first-party and third-party insurance defense cases, with a focus on PIP, bodily injury, and property damage claims.
• Analyze complex legal and factual issues to devise and implement effective litigation strategies.
• Manage discovery efforts, including drafting responses, taking and defending depositions, and preparing expert witnesses.
• Draft motions, briefs, and other court filings.
• Collaborate with a team of attorneys and support staff to provide outstanding client service.
• Negotiate settlements and advocate in court as needed.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in insurance defense litigation.
• Experience with PIP claims is a plus.
• Proven ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines effectively.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with depositions, motion practice, and trial preparation.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a results-oriented mindset.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active Bar License in the relevant jurisdiction(s).

Skills:

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Strong legal research and analytical skills.
• Ability to manage a heavy caseload and meet deadlines.
• Skilled in drafting legal documents, including motions, briefs, and discovery responses.
