Attorney with 2-5 years of civil litigation experience

A law firm in Seattle, WA is seeking an Attorney with 2-5 years of civil litigation experience. The role will encompass various aspects of civil litigation, including motion practice, written discovery, depositions, and trial work. Additionally, the Attorney will advise small businesses on legal issues and engage in transactional legal practice. The ideal candidate should possess excellent writing skills, attention to detail, self-motivation, and a proactive approach to contributing to cases.

Job Responsibilities:

• Handle all phases of civil litigation, from case inception to resolution.
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and other legal documents.
• Conduct legal research and provide analysis of complex legal issues.
• Prepare for and participate in depositions, hearings, mediations, and trials.
• Advise and represent small businesses on a range of legal matters, including contracts, business formation, and regulatory compliance.
• Engage in transactional work such as contract drafting, review, and negotiations.
• Maintain organized case files, track deadlines, and ensure timely communication with clients.
• Collaborate effectively with other attorneys, paralegals, and support staff.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the Washington State Bar in good standing.
• 2-5 years of experience practicing civil litigation, preferably in a law firm setting.
• Strong writing skills with the ability to draft clear and concise legal documents.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proactive and able to take initiative in case management and client representation.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience advising small businesses on legal and transactional matters.
• Trial experience and proficiency in courtroom procedures.
• Familiarity with Washington state court rules and procedures.
• Background in transactional law, including business contracts and agreements.
